Every year Toronto opens its doors to more than 170 monuments for two days. You can then go to free many buildings not normally open to the public or which are paid for two whole days from 10 to 17. We
with some friends we visited Old City Hall, Osgoode, TD Building, Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre and had also visited the Don Jail, but they have closed the entry earlier than planned because there was too much attendance. Unfortunately
questo è stato un problema infatti alcuni monumenti hanno chiuso prima del previsto o erano aperte solo alcune sale dei palazzi e non tutto il palazzo o potevi entrare solo entro le 10 di mattina o erano aperti solo un giorno anzichè due. Per cui, a furor di popolo, abbiamo ribattezzato l'evento "doors closed", anzichè "doors open" .
A parte questo aspetto alcuni di questi palazzi ci sono piaciuti molto.
Consiglio sentitamente di andare a visitare:
- il Winter Garden Theatre, un teatro molto particolare che ha il soffitto completamente ricoperto di foglie che scendono verso il basso e la luce è prodotta da lanterne in mezzo alle foglie.
- il TD Building (Toronto Dominiom Building) is the first skyscraper was built in Toronto and we visited the 54th floor, which is home to the TD Canada Trust Bank, from which there is a spectacular view of Toronto.
- Osgoode Hall, the Ontario Court of Appeal, which has nice rooms and a representative
beautiful library with all the codes of the twentieth century onwards.
